Goodnight, Ted.

We lost a good friend. A friend to a lot of people less fortunate than himself, a friend to people who didn't have access to the halls of power and, of course, a friend to dogs.

Joe Biden on Ted Kennedy:

From Jake and Just Harry:

If only his death has some meaning in helping restore a degree of civility and working for the common good.

Thank you for the video of our favorite pol, Joe Biden.

Already in tears this morning, we choked up as he choked up describing what his pal Ted Kennedy meant to so many people and to our country.

Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden both exemplify what it means to be a mensch and not an empty suit mouthing ugly words.

Our breed, Portuguese Water Dogs, has lost a good friend and supporter. He did a lot for our breed and most of all he loved them. Thank you, Teddy

Muzzer says that her generation (probably GranNe's) marks events in their lives by where they were when his brother Jack and his brother Bobby died. How ironic that Teddy's death comes the year many of them qualify for social security. A political era ends.

Gus's Muzzer is right. I remember sitting in my zoology class as a freshman in college and listening to the report of President Kennedy's death on a little transistor radio and crying with our professor at the news. Today seems like the end of an era.
