Wally's Women! A Rant

So last weekend this HBO Word Deleted bully pulled up next to my good bud Alice as she was driving home. She's exactly the kind of lady I like. She's smart, politically passionate, and thinks I'm adorable. And she has Obama magnets on her car. So this dude in a Land Rover pulls up next to her (him in a big car with other people with him) and he tells her to roll down the window. He then asks her "So, are you happy NOW?" as if somehow in less than two months Barack Obama invaded two countries (one on false pretenses), deregulated every industry he could get his grubby hands on, lost any moral standing we had in the world, and ran up an unimaginable deficit and put our country on loan to China. Remember how great the previous 8 years were! Oh yes, these seven weeks are what have done us in!

So this is the kind of tuff guy who would, in his very large vehicle with a group of people with him, choose to try to intimidate a woman by herself because she has an Obama magnet. I'm not going to speculate on his issues with masculinity but, well, you are welcome to do so. In any case, he's the kind of guy who would complain that our country is becoming socialist and guys like him outta Go Galt! He's like Joe the Plumber who complains that the government is going to tax him out of his ambition even though he is no where near the actual tax bracket whose taxes are going to return to the rate they were in the great communist heyday of the 1990s but he genuinely believes that if there were any justice in the world he WOULD BE but it is only that darned government and undeserving women/minorities, pointy headed academics, and OTHER PEOPLE who are keeping him from having the house with the pool and a wife half his age.

So, to this Manly Man who decided to antagonize MY friend. I understand that you're afraid of the government led by a President who speaks in complete sentences and so you have to pick on women. I understand, when you're that pathetic you do probably need something to give you hope that your life is not as meaningless as it actually seems. And I'm sure it doesn't feel good that you have, no doubt, voted (probably twice) for one of if not the worst President in history. You lose, man.

I have a sneaking suspicion you might have a lot in common with the guy interviewed here by Sam Bee. A shell of a human being. Not so bright, not realizing that YOU are the joke, on the losing side of history. You're the type of guy who actually thinks he deserves his AIG bonus because he works so much harder than and is so much smarter than other people even though he just ran everything into the ground. So here's a video for all the smart women who have to tolerate these *HBO WORD*s and have enough self-restraint to not stick their middle fingers in your eyes and/or point and laugh at your crotch.

I wish I could carry around Sam Bee with me at all time and unleash her on all the bullying jerks out there.

And dude? Yes, we are pretty happy. And we didn't even have to bully anyone to feel better about ourselves!

More Fellow Barkers!

These labbies are Barking for Barack!

Thanks for the h/t, Ms. Laura!

Lola is Barking for Barack!

As Lola contemplates which of her neighbors' lawns to relieve herself on, this house gets a reprieve for their excellent lawn decorations.

P.S. Happy Burpday Lola!

Pal-in' around with Dogs

My bud in PA, Khyra, sent me this article about how if Sarah Palin wants to talk about Obama "palin' around with terrorists," perhaps we should talk about how she's palin' around with traitors, including her husband who was a member in the Alaska Independence Party. They advocate secession.

Charming. Khyra and I are good pals because we support the same teams, Obama and the Phillies, cruising to victory! So here's to WOO, Khyra!

My granny also sent me this post about how the McCain campaign is attacking MICHELLE Obama and, I have to say guys, if you go after Ike's love I have to warn you--it is ON. I wouldn't mess with Ike.

And also, don't mess with my future ma ape. You know, when her daughters adopt me and make me the future First Dog.

ETA: I stand corrected. According to this video, Obama HAS been consorting with some shady characters:

So Good It Made Me Roach

Gus recommended this week's New Yorker, especially this piece on why they are Barking for Barack. I concur! I mean, check out their fantastic use of adjectives!

At a moment of economic calamity, international perplexity, political failure, and battered morale, America needs both uplift and realism, both change and steadiness. It needs a leader temperamentally, intellectually, and emotionally attuned to the complexities of our troubled globe. That leader’s name is Barack Obama.

Sancha Barks!

A fellow barker (and fellow corgi mix!) Sancha went to the forum on service attended by the candidates at Columbia Uni. Sancha has a very good review here. Sancha's impressions: College students love Obama almost as much as they love dogs! Maybe kids these days aren't so bad!

This picture is neither of Sancha nor is it from last night. I just liked it. And I'm still waiting for the Obama girls to adopt me. Corgi mixes have your back!!!!!!

This Dog Won't Hunt

My fellow barkers Sam and Leah have sent me this link to a video from the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund on Palin's record on aerial hunting of bears and wolves. I am embedding this video even though I had to turn away from it after seeing what was happening to my fellow canines.

They have a page listing her record on the environment. She loves her some drilling, still questions whether humans contribute to global warming, and has used state funds to oppose measures against aerial hunting.

That's NOT the change we need.

And, frankly, a polar bear would make a better Vice President.

The Scene in St Paul

Ike went to shout at the Republican'ts who invaded his hometown. He got see Eugene Robinson and he took this picture:

First, I like that the stars on the GOP banner makes it look like the elephant is passing gas. But I don't blame him for having indigestion since the Faux News Tent is attached to the convention like a giant, cancerous tumor. Not unlike in real life.

But this week we've had all bad news so here's some hope-i-ness from Ike.

Why is he smiling? He can't wait to Bark for President Barack!

We Interrupt this Blog...

On Wednesday night in her speech Governor Palin got some (GOP) laughs with the line "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick." Here with a response is my friend Big Red, an inmate at the SPCA.

Dear Governor Palin,

I know pit bulls. Some of my best friends (me) are pit bulls. You, my friend, are no pit bull.

Sincerely,

Big Red
President and Vice President
Pitty Anti-Defamation Society (PADS)

P.S. I do look darn fetching in lipstick.
P.P.S. Please stop smearing pit bulls. We have it tough enough without being compared to Republicans.

Dispatches from St. Paul

funny pictures
moar funny pictures

My friend Annabelle is three and a half and lives in St. Paul. She had the most insightful bit of political punditry I heard today. This is what she wrote me:

ohkh9jhjnh,lhni9jhh,hkig,,oogi0yhn098y09hy8jonihikhuyiy80uyuyht86u7ybh

Seriously--far more sensible than Morning Joe on MSNBC today. Our Teevee nearly went out the window.

Annabelle's very smart mom also gave us this link to the NPR Minnesota blog which is a highly recommended read. It has some interesting information on the protests. Ike also has some good pictures and stories.

The NPR blog notes parallels with the '68 Democratic convention, though no one seems to be taking the protestors seriously as anything other than rabble rousers (and the infamous "anarchist" labels--more on the so-called "angry left" later!) But my favorite story was this one about the longest line in town--the one to see The Daily Show on location!

The Daily Show might argue, however, that there's quite a line for men's room at the Minneapolis Airport. Paging Senator Craig!!!

Partay!!!!!!!!!

I'm talking, of course, about the party we will be having on The whole world is invited! And you should bring one of these (thanks for the tip, Gus). We will have dozens of Bush pinatas and we will fill them with bully sticks, meatables, and Wallymelon chunks!

President Obama, you're invited but I understand if you're a little busy. I promise, though, we'll have a lot more fun than that stuffy Inaugural Ball they throw!

Obama on the Military

One of my BFF's Peanut e-mailed me this link to an interview with Obama from Military Times. He talks about Iraq, improving pay and benefits for servicepeople and veterans, the problems with private contractors, and Don't Ask/Don't Tell. It's an informative interview.

Peanut's Dad is in the military and is currently serving in Iraq so this stuff is very important to him. As you can see above, Peanut is Barking for Barack! Thanks for the link, Peanut!
